Some of history’s most important ideas started as something short — an essay, a pamphlet, a letter — before they became the books that changed how people understood their world. Third World United exists in that space.

We publish short essays and reflections built around Third Worldist ideas: the history and ongoing struggle for unity among the nations and peoples of the Global South, and the role of diaspora communities as bridges between the West and the lands their families came from.

Every piece we publish supplements or responds to ideas from pioneering writers and thinkers like Walter Rodney, Frantz Fanon and Edward Said.

We seek to build upon their ideas and share information that can lead us towards
a United Third World.
